Deliveries and COVID-19

Update: Now Trading Online

Our online shop is still operating, deliveries may just take a little longer than usual. If you do place an order a member of the team will be in touch with the delivery schedule.

Pruno would like to echo the government advice, stay at home, only go out to exercise or buy essential food or medical supplies. It is important that as a country we all follow the message that has been enforced on 23rd March 2020.

Please check back for further updates.

Handling deliveries:

Preparing your package for delivery – There is only one person (Sean Millar) handling the wines and packaging. Pruno has put into place measures to protect our employees and to minimise the risk of passing on Covid-19 to our customers. Hygiene is a top priority for all of us and so we have produced these guidelines in line with WHO and the UK government.

Handling your delivery – whilst it is unlikely that you could contract Covid-19 from one of our packages we would advise that you take the following precautions whilst handling ANY parcel delivered to your home.

  • Do not sign for any delivery using a pen or electronic keyboard presented to you by the delivery person unless your hands are protected with gloves.
  • Ensure you keep some disposable gloves by the door so that you can pick up the parcel and move it into your home.
  • Keep the gloves on if you intend to open the package immediately.
  • Dispose of the gloves and packaging immediately after opening.

Opening your package:

Any parcel delivered from Pruno will have been stored for a minimum of 48 hours – the virus is said to live on cardboard for up to 24 hours and on some plastics up to 72 hours. If you receive a parcel from Pruno we would suggest storing it for at least 24 hours before opening it. The use of gloves would be recommended at this stage. The virus is said to live on steel for up to 72 hours and do we would strongly advise taking precaution when handling. Taking in to account the timings mentioned above this would mean leaving any parcel for a 24 hour period before opening it.

Pruno will continue to monitor the ongoing Covid-19 situation and will work to the guidelines and recommendations made by WHO, NHS and the Government. We will endeavour to proceed with all customer orders applying the upmost care and attention.
